Dear Meade Families,
This year, the Meade school day will begin at 8:50 am and end at 3:39 pm daily. While this is the same schedule as last year, we will be sharing multiple reminders with families to give them time to make family and childcare arrangements and make sure their children can attend school on time every day.
Attendance will be a big priority this school year.
EVERY STUDENT WILL RECEIVE A UNIFORM SHIRT ON THE FIRST DAY 🙂
Our uniform colors are:
Tops:
Kindergarten – 5th grade: yellow polo shirt, button-down shirt, or blouse
6th – 8th grade: Navy polo shirt, button-down shirt, or blouse
Bottoms:
Navy blue pants, skirt, skort, or jumper
Sweaters/Jackets:Â Navy Blue
My entire team and I are excited and ready to safely welcome all of our students back to school starting Monday, August 26th – the first day of school. The school day will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 3:39 PM. From August 26th to August 30th , Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:39 PM for Kindergarten Interviews.
All summer, we have been preparing for an incredible new school year. Our teachers and school staff are attending special training sessions to continue to support our students’ social, emotional and educational needs. Student schedules are being created. Our hard-working custodians have been cleaning and sanitizing our school. And, our cafeteria workers are preparing to serve your children a delicious and healthy breakfast and lunch each school day. We cannot wait to see your faces.
Also, I invite all of our families to attend our in-person Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, September 11th from 4 – 5:30 p.m. This will be a great time to meet key staff members, learn more about the new school year and tour our school. In the meantime, I encourage you to take a few minutes to visit www.philasd.org/ringthebell for the latest back-to-school information in multiple languages.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me at 215-400-7310 or ascottmack@philasd.org with any questions.
With Gratitude,
Proud Principal Scott
Attention families: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a Federal law, requires that a school with certain exceptions obtain your written consent prior to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from your child’s education records. However, a school may disclose appropriately designated “directory information” without written consent, unless you have advised the school to the contrary in accordance with school district procedures. The primary purpose of directory information is to allow schools to include information from your child’s education records in certain school publications.
Parents who wish to opt their students out of directory information releases must complete an Opt-Out Form for each of their students, and must return each form to the school at which each student is enrolled by November 6, 2023.
